After the move to the Public Health Institute in 2011, the Coalition was established to replicate more FACES programs. Since then, FACES programs have been established in East Oakland, South Alameda County, Hayward, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, and now expanding nationally to Denver, CO, Albuquerque, NM, and Detroit, MI.
Overall, FACES has served over 1,800 students and will be serving 348 just this year, with an expected increase nationwide.
The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to develop and sustain a comprehensive program that offers personalized career guidance and mentorship. This will happen through a series of career advising and small group mentoring sessions tailored to the unique interests and needs of FACES alumni, including incoming college students from underserved communities/first-generation students and current college students.
The primary benefit of this program is direct guidance and learning from a professional in the desired career field to FACES alumni. It is a free resource that connects alumni with a professional in a field of their interest, assisting underserved communities and first-generation students to pursue their career pathways. This continued support helps reduce barriers to networks and access for students from underserved communities and first-generation students.
When you donate, you support our programs and our students in the following ways:
- Provide FACES alumni and students with stipends for their participation in career advising mentorship workshops
- Help FACES alumni identify a pathway to their desired career
- Build alumni networks and professional relationships
- Reduce barriers for FACES first-generation students
- Grow professional skills for FACES alumni
Donations are tax-deductible. This campaign will run from April 2024 through September 2024.
