Linda Aug, RN, Manager,Medical/Surgery/Telemetry, St. Rose Hospital
“The value in having the FACES students on the nursing unit is a win-win. The students are given an invaluable opportunity to experience the front lines of healthcare in a REALITY setting prior to making it a career choice. I tell them this opportunity did not exist for many of us who have chosen healthcare professions with a more naive notion of the complexities of the job. I tell them “How lucky you are to find out if this is what you want for your career choice!” The win for the employee and for myself as a Nursing manager is to see the pride each employee takes in sharing their particular role in the hospital. This has increased the value and self-worth for employees whether they are nurses, unit secretaries, file clerks, case managers or even for myself as a manager. It’s priceless to watch and rewarding to see. “
