FACES PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Job Summary
Job description/Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision, the FACES Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of the daily operational activities of the FACES for the Future program. This includes implementation and supervision of clinical internship placements and rotations, academic support and mentoring, and coordination of wellness program for FACES students. The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all student participants meet the program expectations regarding performance, rules, and behavior. The Program Coordinator will work to guarantee that program materials are current and relevant, that operations run in a smooth and effective manner, and that open and regular communication exists with all program partners and stakeholders. The Program Coordinator works directly with St. Rose Hospital staff as well as with the FACES for the Future Coalition team at the Public Health Institute, and provides all relevant material and data required for program development, fund raising strategies and program evaluation. FACES Program Coordinator is also responsible for grant research and submission for funds to support the program and to support Foundation grant writing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Maintains daily oversight and evaluation of FACES for the Future students.
Acts as consistent mentor and caring adult for FACES students.
Places students in appropriate internships and coordinates clinical rotations.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with health care professionals providing mentorship and supervision of students.
Schedules and facilitates workshops for students focusing on professional/career development, college preparation and other pertinent topics.
Communicates with parents and family members.
Works independently while cognizant of scope and boundaries of Program Coordinator position.
Works in close association with education partners and communicates with them regularly.
Participates in community outreach efforts of the FACES for the Future program and St. Rose Hospital.
Coordinates annual FACES enrichment events, such as senior graduation ceremony, college tours, volunteer opportunities and other events.
Responsible for recruiting students for the FACES for the Future program.
Works in tandem with mission and goals of the FACES for the Future best practice model.

Required Qualification:*License/Certification
Possession of a California Driver?s License

BA Degree required
**Proof of required educational level(s) due at time of hire
Experience
Experience working with adolescents
Knowledge of current health care delivery systems, both hospital based and community based, and of health care careers is essential
Experience working with non profit organizations
Skills
Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage a small program staff
Mature, professional, and dependable
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and to prioritize appropriately
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact professionally with high school/college students, parents, hospital personnel, healthcare professionals and community partners.
Ability to work independently, problem solve and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Employee must demonstrate basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Ability to take initiative toward improving the overall success of the program
Ability to relate to high risk minority youth
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
