Dr. Michael DeRosa is the Chair of the Physician Assistant Department at Samuel Merritt University and a practicing Physician Assistant. Dr. DeRosa holds his undergraduate degree in Psychobiology and his doctorate in Neuroscience studying specimens from the Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery Program. He completed two postdoctoral fellowships in neuroimmunology working at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Berlex Biosciences. Dr. DeRosa leads Samuel Merritt University students on two global health trips per year to provide care for patients in rural Panama. FACES will leverage Dr. DeRosa’s global health experience to inform curriculum and training for FACES students.
