Perla Cantu, Class of 2006

1382955_10151738935549531_1147588211_nPerla Cantu, FACES Oakland Class of 2006, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in General Biology from Mills College in 2010. Following graduation, Perla has been employed as a Ward Clerk at Children’s Hospital Oakland, where she was first introduced as a FACES student scholar and now maintains contact with her former FACES mentors (occasionally assisting them at health fairs). Concurrently, she has completed required courses for nursing school, recently took the TEAS exam (required pre-nursing exam), and is now in the process of applying to nursing schools. Her plan is to become an Intensive Care Unit or Surgical Nurse. She also plans to continue working as a Ward Clerk at CHO until she is hired by the hospital as a RN!
