Muhammad Khan (he, him, his) is a 2020 FACES Sacramento alumnus. His journey since graduating from the FACES program has been deeply rooted in contributing towards community health and medicine. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis, Muhammad is actively engaged in research, focusing on atherosclerosis, renal, and cardiovascular diseases. His passion for community health is evident through his leadership role in co-founding the Healing Hands Community Clinic, where he serves as CEO, aiming to provide accessible healthcare services to underserved communities.
Reflecting on his time as a FACES student, Muhammad acknowledges the positive impact the program had on him, both personally and professionally. FACES provided invaluable resources and support that helped shape his educational and career aspirations. His memories of being a FACES student and feeling connected to community serve as a constant reminder of why he entered the health field.
Muhammad’s message to the FACES community – current students, supporters, and stakeholders alike – is to embrace every learning opportunity, as the path you have embarked on is one of remarkable potential and profound impact. He urges current students to take advantage of the great opportunities FACES offers, including ongoing support, guidance, and network building.
Nowadays, you can find Muhammad serving as the 2023-2024 FACES Youth Advisory Council Co-Chair where he offers leadership and advocates for youth-led initiatives. He is also in his final steps of publishing his research on Lp(a) and cardiovascular disease risk among individuals with chronic kidney disease, while also preparing to apply to medical school very soon.
