My name is Jessica Abella, and I graduated from San Lorenzo High School and FACES Hayward in 2014. As a first-generation college student and the first in my family to consider a career in the health professions, I didn’t know where to begin. By participating in the FACES program in high school, I was able to find positive role models and learn from my internship experiences. I also received help with things that were stressful in my personal life.
When I participated in my internship at the Fuente Wellness Center, I was able to be around many Medical Assistants, and I realized that it was a good place for me to start. With Dr. Magana’s support and the support of the other professionals at Fuente, I attended a CMA program. I graduated in 2016, and now, I am working at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center.
My future goal is to continue going to school and become an Ultrasound Tech. I look forward to helping my patients.
