Anali Velez, RN was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, a child of immigrant parents and a first generation college student. She was a member of the first FACES for the Future class in Hayward, CA. Anali completed the FACES program in 2009 and continued onto Chabot College in Hayward where she completed the prerequisite classes for entry into nursing programs. In 2012, Anali enrolled in California State University East Bay’s competitive nursing program where she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She became an official Registered Nurse in June 2015.
Anali shares, “FACES was the first step towards achieving my goals. Through FACES, I was able to fine point my interest in nursing by rotating through different areas in the hospital and build real life connections. I thank FACES for making me feel capable at a young age and helping me get familiarized with the world of education. After all, we are a product of our society and I’m thankful FACES was available in my area when I needed it.”
Anali currently resides in Roswell, New Mexico with her husband, where she serves the youth around her as a school nurse. She desires to someday start a program similar to FACES in her area, with hopes of impacting somebody’s life as FACES has done for many.
