Released in September 2015, FACES for the Future was highlighted in a new report as a best practice program for building internships for youth interested in health careers.
Over the past year, FACES for the Future Coalition staff participated in a working group gathered by the California Hospital Association. Funded by the James Irvine Foundation, the group of health system professionals, educators and CBO’s worked to identify solutions and best practices to help hospitals and clinics develop a health pathway for youth interested in the health professions. The roadmap includes tools and guidance in establishing internships, talks about the return on investment for hospitals interested in diversifying their workforce, and leads readers through some exercises to determine readiness.
