This time of year, many of us stop and reflect – on the year we have had and the year that is still to come. For many of us, this year has been a difficult one as we continue to struggle with the loss of life and the loss of our sense of normalcy during the pandemic.
During this time, our FACES for the Future students have continued to inspire us. They have demonstrated resilience and strength well beyond their years. They have transitioned back into school, have held jobs to support their families and they have helped out with childcare at home. They show us time and time again, what it means to be there for others.
This year, they have joined in the fight against COVID-19 by becoming peer vaccine educators in the FACES Public Health Youth Corps. Working in 86 zip codes and speaking 21 languages – they are talking to their peers, their siblings, their families and their neighbors about public health practices like mask wearing and social distancing, and giving out vital vaccination information. We are so proud of the work they are doing as youth leaders!
During this time of year, many of us also think about organizations we would like to support with a donation. We ask that you consider the FACES for the Future Coalition as you make your giving plans. In 2022, FACES will be 22 years old and we wouldn’t be here without the support of people like you! We are working in 4 states, in 7 locations and at 14 different high schools. We have innovated our program model to include a virtual “medical mystery” curriculum and are starting to make plans to re-implement our FACES internships in the coming year. There is a lot going on at FACES and we would love you to be a part of the excitement.
We wish you all a blessed 2022, and thank each of you for your continued partnership.
