Psychoeducational Program

“FACES is my second family; a place where I turn to for answers, guidance, motivation, and hope.” – Linh Thi Dao

The mission of the Psychoeducational Program is to motivate our students to look within themselves to discover who they are and to become their “higher selves”, based upon the philosophy that a single individual can make a major difference in the world we live in. It is believed that, as manifested in every successful individual, changes must begin within the individual before they can manifest in the environment in which they live. With this perspective in mind, the Psychoeducational Program focuses not only on the students’ psychosocial issues, but also on the way the students think, act, live, and especially, what things they like. Through understanding and knowing each student on a personal level, he or she can be directed to successfully begin his/her metamorphosis from a teenager to a responsible and highly motivated adult.

The Psychoeducational Program consists of three vital elements- Counseling, Education and Leadership Development- and is managed by the program’s Psychoeducational Coordinator. The Psychosocial Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to successfully address the personal and psychosocial issues of each student, regardless of the magnitude and/or severity of any particular personal situation.

Questions regarding the Psychoeducational Program should be directed to the Psychoeducational Coordinator, Renè Macias at (510) 428-3214 or Rene@facesforthefuture.org.
